Make a CHANGE!!! Croft students are collecting spare change to make a CHANGE.  All money raised will go to the Leukemia Society to help children with cancer.  Classes are competing for a special prize (to be announced).  Way to go Croft!  Let’s make a CHANGE and beat cancer!

                              LAST DAY OF CLASSES BEFORE XMAS:   Friday, December 23rd will be the last day for students  before Christmas holidays.  This will be a half day of classes for students with dismissal taking place BEGINNING AT 11:00 A. M.  Parents are reminded that this is a storm bus run, so students may take longer than normal to get home where the entire district will be dismissed at the same time.  Also, if you plan to pick up your child on this day, you may do so as early as 10:15 to 10:30 a. m.  Please send a note to your child’s teacher indicating this.

Students of Croft can help feed those that are hungry and learn!  How?  Go to: www.freerice.com and answer English, math or other subjects.  For every answer you get right 10 grains of rice will be donated through the World Food Programme.  You can change the subject too!  Stay smart and help out!

Would you like to learn some Effective Discipline and how to increase positive behaviour from your 2-12 year olds?  If so the owner of Peaceful Families Consulting, Charlene Savoie B.A., R.T.C.,  is coming to Miramichi to teach a 4.5 hour seminar which will assist you to discipline your children without yelling, arguing or spanking.  You will learn the six kinds of testing and manipulation your children use and how to decrease them.  On top of that, you will also learn how to handle issues such as chores, homework and how to increase other positive choices from your children.  This seminar is

Bring $1 and wear your craziest Xmas costumes! Green and red galore, elf costume, Santa or Christmas PJ’s.  Anything goes!  If you don’t want to wear Christmas stuff or don’t have anything of the sort, then wear Winter Wonderland!  Snowmen and snowflakes can work too!! Don’t forget your $1 on Friday, December 16th!!

A HUGE Congratulations goes out to all students at Croft Elementary!! Together they’ve raised $755.80 for Pennies for Polio!!! WAY TO GO CROFT!!  Even better is that the Rotary Club is matching our donation! Congrats to 5 Aubry and 3 Le Gresley for the most donations per student in their class.  Both classes have won a cake party!

Next week is Bullying Awareness Week. The theme for the week is Stand Up to Bullying. Listent to the announcements for messages on bullying. Throughout the week there will be a "Caught You Caring Campaign", students will be having classroom lessons on bullying, and be encouraged to sign an anti-bullying pledge. To finish off the week students and staff will be asked to wear blue on Friday, November 18th as a sign of peace and safety.
