All parents and family members are encouraged to join us on this day to skip, have fun and promote active living that leads to "healthier hearts". Prizes will be awarded for the most enthusiastic parent/guardian skippers at each grade level.
The Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to
accept film entries for the second annual Kin Film Festival. All School
District 16 students are invited to participate. Films can be submitted
in one of two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category (The Communities Greatest Need). The top 10
films in each category will be screened on May 12th, 2012 at Miramichi
Empire Studio 5. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for
the winners in each category.
Titanic Day was held at Croft on Monday, April 16th. It was a great success! Some students dressed-up just as crew and passengers of the Titanic. Wonderful projects came in for the Titanic Gallery too. A special thank you goes out to Patrick McE., Michelle and Donna who helped set-up the Art Gallery and to the teachers for helping with the day. Have you considered supporting education in your community? District Education Council nominations close on April 13th.
District Education Council (DEC) members bring local knowledge of the education issues in their communities and the interests of their constituents into broader education system discussions. Your work will help students achieve, succeed and lead happy, productive lives as a result of your input into the environment and culture of learning.
Tuesday will be a Hat & Gum day at Croft. Students pay $1 to wear their hats all day. On top of it, they get to chew gum during class time!! You must bring your own gum. All money raised will go to the Autism Resources Miramichi.
Parents are advised that the cafeteria will serve an Easter Dinner on Thursday, April 5th. This will be be the only item on the menu on this day. Parents will receive a pre-order form sent home. All orders must be placed by Monday, April 2nd.
