The Adventure of a Lifetime

Posted: June 24, 2011

Wow! On April 1st, 2011, our teacher's cousin had the adventure of a lifetime. He climbed the Himalayan Mountains!. Daniel LeGresley climbed three Himalayan mountains, Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, Mount Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar Mountain. He and his crew of sixteen people climbed the three Himalayan Mountains not knowing what was in store. Our class followed his journey. We wrote letters that inspired him through his journey. He climbed mountains for a month we follwed his adventure. After his journey we got the chance to Skype with Daniel. We also had some questions and answer time with him. The second highest mountain he climbed was Loubuche Peak at 6,119 meters. The highest mountain he climbed was Mera peak at 6,476 meters. Laka Patthar Mountain at 5,545 and Mount Everest Base Camp at 5,350 meters. Even a little part of us went to the Himalayan Mountains as we drew a poster with our names on it. He inspired us through this amazing journey. Mme. LeGresley’s grade three class sent letters, drew a poster, Skyped with, followed his blog and sent him letters. When we Skyped with him all the kids were excited... even Mme. LeGresley was excited. Some people asked him questions like did you fall at the bottom, are the mountains a nice place to visit, did you like the card the class gave you, did you show your friends the card and how many people are there in your group and did he think he had the adventure of his life. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could go on this amazing journey! He got back on May 1st and he said that he was happy to be home and see his family.Written by Lacey, Gehrig and Caleb
