The Great Big Crunch

On Thursday March 11, 2010 join Canada in taking one big bite towards healthy living through healthy eating. The "Great Big Crunch" invites all communities to learn about healthy eating and local and global food systems while following the journey from the apple seed, to the harvest, to the market, to the core.
Croft will be supporting this initiative by providing free apples to all students on Thursday March 11th. Help support healthier children by promoting healthy eating habits each and every day.

Skating This Month

Everyone is reminded that we have two dates scheduled for skating at the Civic Center this month.
Parents are welcome to join us when your child's class is at the rink. The dates we have booked are as follows:
Thursday March 11th 9:00 3 McKay, 3 LeGresley, 3/4 Rousselle
9:50 4 Hubbard-Brown, 4 Sheppard
10:50 5 Aubry, 5 Mitchell
Thursday March 25th 9:00 1 Brophy

URGENT REMINDER TO ALL GRADE 2 PARENTS!!
The last day to register your child for Grade 3 French Immersion for this September, is tomorrow, February 26th.
All interested parents must register at the School District # 16 Board Office, 78 Henderson Street, Miramichi (behind St. Michael’s Basilica).
Please note that the first form sent home on January 25th, regarding Gr. 3 Immersion, was a survey only.
The 2010 Winter Olympics Are Coming To Croft

The Winter Olympics are fast approaching and Canada is getting ready. At Croft, two weeks of Olympic events are being planned to help celebrate the Vancouver 2010 Games.
The “Croft 2010 Olympics” will begin on February 12th with an Opening Ceremony at the front of our school. This will be followed by two weeks of sporting competitions and a Closing Ceremony on February 26th.
A total of nine events are planned, for all grades, with one specific Olympic competition being showcased each day. Out of the nine sports, seven will be competitive and medals (gold, silver & bronze) awarded for each grade level. Pond hockey and bobsledding will be for fun only. Commemorative medals of the Croft 2010 Olympics will be awarded to all students at our Closing Ceremony.
Pennies for Haiti - Update

Croft Elementary students, parents and staff are very proud to report that a whopping $ 1,416.00 (one thousand four hundred and sixteen dollars) was raised in our recent Penny Drive for Haiti.
