Croft Rink to Open - Wednesday January 13th

Posted: January 11, 2010

Students, parents and staff will soon enjoy skating the old fashioned way at Croft - Outdoors!! Thanks to the help of some great students (Logan, David and Devin in particular), as well as some super parents (Les Matchett and Michael Allain) we hope to break in our new rink this Wednesday. Students will be able to enjoy the rink both at lunch time and during PE classes. The school would also like to organize some skating nights for our families in the near future - stay tuned... Some addtional information/guidelines regarding the rink: Students will use the heated Ski Storage Shed to put on/take off skates. Lessons on how to tie skates will be done at school for students in Gr. 2-5. For our K-1 students a "buddy system" will be established with students in Gr. 4 & 5 to assist the younger children. Helmets will be mandatory for everyone. When playing hockey, helmets with full face masks will be required. Skate Guards will be needed to walk from the Ski Storage Shed to the rink. Rink Schedule:             Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Hockey             Tuesday, Thursday - Skating Only Note: Opening day (this Wed. will be skating only). The regular rink schedule will take effect thereafter. Students in all grades will still be scheduled for skating at the Civie Center between now and the end of March - schedule to follow. Look forward to seeing you at the Rink!!!
