Day 1 of Croft Winter Olympics

Today Germany faced off against Sweden in a snowshoeing competition. Germany received a silver medal going to Owen and a bronze medal going to Bailey! Way to go! Everyone had a blast snowshoeing. I was very proud of our class. Everyone tried their hardest and did an excellent job! We are looking forward to tomorrows event. We are having a boot race in the snow. Good luck to                        all our athletes.

Skating

Tomorrow we will be practicing our speed skating and figure skating events.  The children will need to bring their skates and helmet with them.

So You Think You Can Dance School District 16

Guidelines: 1.Students will create a dance to their favorite song. 2. They may work alone, with a partner or in a group. 3. Students are responsible for bringing in their own music. 4. Dance must be 30 seconds. 5. Students must demonstrate appropriate dance moves and behavior. 6.Music must be appropriate 7. Each category will have 1 finalist represent their school. 8. No crossover in classes. 9. Students will try their best and have FUN. Each routine must have: Start                                                   Turn Balance Movement to music Finish      Class Phys. Ed time will be provided for students to practice their routines.

Skating

This Thursday, January 21st, our class will be going skating at the Civic Center from 9:50-10:50 a.m.  Any parents wishing to attend are welcome.  Please ensure your child has skates, and a helmet for this event.  Thank you and have a great week!

Door decorating contest

We won 2nd place in the door decorating contest ( K-2 category) . Our prize was a cookie party.  We will be having cookies and hot chocolate tomorrow !  Check us out in front of our door.  Pictures will be posted soon...

Sharing Time!

Today is Wednesday.  We had a fun week so far!  On Monday, we decorated a tree at the District Office.  Our ornaments were beautiful on the tree!  We even got candy canes on our way out!  Today, we painted paper plates to make gingerbread men .  We are going to finish them this afternoon.  We will decorate our door with them.  We are practicing very hard for our Christmas concert.  We can't wait to sing our song to you on Tuesday!  We learned some interesting facts about reindeer today!  We even worked on a reindeer book.  We will read this book to you soon! We have a new TA in our classroom.  Her name is Rhonda! She is very nice!    We are looking forward to eating our Christmas dinner today!  Mmmm....  Enjoy the snow tonight everyone and you never know.....we may be sleeping in tomorrow!!!!
