Congratulations to Brody Hallihan, Landon Stewart!!  They took home the gold and silver medals for Denmark, in Snowshoeing!!  A big congratulations to all my Danish athletes, as they all put forth their best effort.  Way to go!!  Don't forget, everyone that participates and demonstrates the 'true spirit of the olypics' will receive their own Croft Olympic Medal.  Just a note about tomorrow's competition... instead of sock skating in the gym, we will be having a 'boot race' on the soccer field.  Good luck to all of Mrs. Wilson's Olympians!

Please let me know if your child is having a difficult time reading the books we are sending home.  Typically, we send home the child's 'instructional level', which is one level up from what he and she is reading at.  (ex: If the child is reading level B fluently, the instructional level is C).

We have focused on all lowercase letters of the alphabet, and are now moving forward with the uppercase letters.  Although the children have a great deal of exposure to both uppercase and lowercase letters letters of the alphabet on a daily basis, we are now focusing on the letter formation of uppercase letters in greater detail.  At the same time, we will be reviewing lowercase formation, letter sounds etc.  This week we worked with Allie Alligator's letter Aa, and Bubba Bear's letter Bb.  We will continue on through the alphabet, focusing on 2 letters per week.

Thursday, January 21st will be our first skating trip to the Civic Centre!!  PLEASE, any parents that are able to come with us, meet us there!  I will welcome your help with open arms!! Our school skating rink is up and running.  Due to the fact that kindergarten children will need help with more than just putting on skates, it may be a good idea for the kids to have a parent with them at lunch, if they are interested in skating.  I will try to plan a little 'skating party' on our rink, if I can get parents or family members interested in coming!
