Classroom Project!

Over the last couple of weeks, a group of Kindergarten students from my class have been practicing a play called "Numbers' Play Day".  They are doing a fantastic job!!  Stay tuned, because in the middle of May, we are planning to video the performance and upload it to our classroom webpage!!

Music Festival Update!

Congratulations K/1 B and KW for your amazing performances this morning at the Kin Center.  They recieved a mark of 80 for singing "Texas Train", an 82 for their choral reading "I Can't Sit Still", and an 82 for their "Achy Breaky Heart" line dance.  Great job!! Tomorrow, K/1B and KW will be performing again with our primary choir and two special performances with the entire school!  Hope to see you all there!!   Miss Brophy

Music Festival

On April 13 and April 14, K/1B will be participating in the annual Rotary Music Festival in Miramichi.  On April 13, K/1B will be singing at the Kin Center between 9:20am - 11:20am.  On April 14, K/1B will be singing with the whole school at Carrefour between 11:15am - 12:30pm.  Mrs. Page has asked for students to wear cowboy hats/boots or jeans and a t-shirt to their performance on April 13.  See you at the music festival!!

Homework: March 8 - March 12, 2010

1. Levelled Text 2. Sight Words      - Today I tested each student on the 50 sight words that they are required to know by the end of Grade One.  Sight words were created based on the words students did not recognize.  Therefore, each individual child has their own specific set of words that they need to review this week.  3. Math Facts - Review facts up to 9.  Next week we will begin subtraction!!

A Special Thank You!

I would like to send a special thank you to Paula and Lucas Aube, for sending me pictures they took during our Croft Olympics!!  Thank you very much Paula and Lucas, it was very much appreciated!!   I am hoping to get the rest of our pictures, from the Olympics, on the class website soon!!
