     The City of Miramichi is offering a variety of activities for students during March Break. Please read on for all the details...         1) 3rd ANNUAL MARCH BREAK SHOOT-OUTYOUTH FLOOR HOCKEY TOURNAMENTWednesday, March 6th 9:00am-5pm2 Divisions: Grades 4-6 & 7-9Each Team consists of 5 players ( 4 players and Goalie)Lunch Provided, Prizes AwardedCost is $5.00.Get your team in by contacting Jason at 623-2054We also will be taking registrations at the door of teams and individuals. Our Family skating night in support of the Alzheimer's Society was a huge success!  Many students and parents attended and even the parents got on the ice for a few laps. Everyone enjoyed the hot chocolate and cookies and we were able to raise $308.30 for the Miramichi Alzheimer's Society. The 50-50 draw is worth $85.00 and we are waiting for the winner to claim their prize. The ticket number is # 240630. If you are the winner,you may collect your winnings at the office. Just bring your ticket along.

National Pink Shirt Day is happening across Canada tomorrow. This nation wide effort is in support of Bullying Awareness across the country. Students and staff are invited to wear pink on this day.

Croft Family Skating Night Tuesday, February 26th K-2 Students and Family - 6:00- 7:15 pm Gr. 3-5 Students and Family - 7:15- 8:30 pm You are cordially invited to our Family Skating Party on Tuesday evening in support of our local Alzheimer’s Society. This project is being organized by our leadership group and all proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Miramichi Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Last Jamboree of the year!!! A reminder to our Boys Basketball Squad and their parents that our final jamboree is scheduled for this Thursday Feb. 28 at Dr. Losier Middle School. Our one and only game at this jamboree will be played at 3:30 vs. Gretna Green. Good Luck Boys!!!

        WEEK #4: Food Safety at Lunch Time   Tips for Keeping Lunch Safe: Always wash hands before preparing or eating lunch. This is the one of best ways to prevent food spoilage and contamination. Keep cold foods cold.         Keep hot foods hot. Clean all lunch boxes, thermal bags, plastic utensils and containers in hot soapy water. DO NOT re-use plastic wrapping and bags. Wash all fruits and veggies under cold running water.

          WEEK #3: Drinks – Keeping Lunch Healthy   Dietitians of Canada recommends: Ø  Children 1 to 8 years old get 6 cups of fluid per day. Ø  9 to 13 years old girls should get between 8-9 cups per day. Ø  9 to 13 year old boys should get between 10-13 cups per day.
