"Way to go Switzerland!"

Our class is pleased to share that during the first week of Croft Olympics, while representing Switzerland, we have won the following medals:Snowshoeing: Heidi Amos - BRONZE; Ashley Kenny - SILVERSkiing: Landon Audet - GOLDSkeleton: Owen Witherell - BRONZE; Ian Watters - SILVERWe congratulate our medal recipients as well as thank all our classmates for thier participation and ongoing Olympic spirit! Also, we wish the best to our competitors from Mme. Snow Storm NO Show!

Lots "o" sleepy heads today!  With a predicted snowstorm many people intended on sleeping in. In other news, Switzerland(croft elementary grade 5 Mitchell) has earned a Gold Medal in the Skiing event.  Keep up the great work Switzerland! On Thursday, Switzerland has some talented speed skaters ready to shred some ice at the Civic Centerand earn more medals! More to be posted soon :) Dylan.H

Switzerland "R" Us

Mrs.Mitchell's Grade 5 class is playing for Switzerland and will be making a great effort to get some medals in the events for the next few weeks. Here are some interesting facts about Switzerland:In Switzerland, their currency is the Swiss Franc(CHF).Switzerland has one of the lowest crime rates of all industrialized countries.Their religion is 48% Protestant and 49% Catholic.The population is 7.70 million!thats not very much!The capitol city is Bern.  Bern's population is 130 000.Switzerland created the Tobleron bar!Switzerland is famous for its great music.  They play the alphorn and yodel.Swiss people are very good at skiing because they have great mountains.      More will be posted soon :)              by:Dylan.H
