As part of our Science unit on weather, on April 29th Mrs. Mitchell's grade 5 class flew kites.  It seemed that the weather was perfect for flying kites i.e. overcase, windy, and cool.  However, the wind was intermittent and there were several challenges in getting some of the kites up.  Nonetheless, this was a great learning opportunity in allowing students to experience a seemingly invisible force such as wind/air!  Additionally, our outing coincided with the upcoming departure of one of our students, Vincent Hulshof.  Hence, the attached video was made as a small reminder of all his friends at Croft Elementary.  Vincent, we'll miss you!
