Dear Parent(s), Our class has been invited to participate in decorating a Christmas tree at the District 16 School Board Office next Monday, December 14th.  We are all looking forward to going and this afternoon, we made our gingerbread ornaments for the event.  Each child was able to make two ornaments of their choice.  They had a great time and you should smell our classroom.  Delicious! If you would like to try this activity with you family it is very easy. All you need is apple sauce and cinnamon. Pour equal amounts of each into a bowl and mix together. ( 1 cup makes 10-15, 3-inch ornaments.)  If the mixture seems too wet after mixing, just add a bit more cinnamon and mix it in.  Then roll out the dough between two pieces of wax paper and cut out your shapes.  Make a hole at the top of the ornament with a straw and this is where you will put the ribbon once the ornament is dry.  Drying will take a few days, depending on how thick you make them, and you have to turn the ornament over to let both sides dry.  If you wish to speed up the process, you can also put them in the oven at 350 for about an hour, again depending on how thick they are.  Have Fun!

Dear Parent(s), Today we were discussing making stories from little ideas and the kids wrote a class story today about a picture of a young boy and girl brushing their teeth.  I just had to share it with you.  It was awesome! Hendrik and Hanna were brushing their teeth before they went to bed. All of a sudden one of Hendrik's teeth fell out. "Yipee," squealed Hendrik, "I lost a tooth." "OH good," said Hanna, "The tooth fairy will come tonight. I hope I will lose one too," she said. When they finished brushing their teeth, Hendrik took his tooth and put it under his pillow. Soon he was fast asleep in his bed. That night, Hendrik woke up and saw the tooth fairy trying to get his tooth out from under his pillow. Quickly, Hendrik jumped out of bed and woke all of his family up so they could come and see the tooth fairy. But, when they got back to Hendrik's room, the tooth fairy was gone. All that was left was a toonie and a note. Hendrik walked over and picked up the note. It said: You were a good boy when you were asleep. Sorry I couldn't stay but I have to pick up other people's teeth and give them their note and money. Have a good night without your tooth. Love, The tooth Fairy Hendrik and his family went back to bed and soon fell fast asleep. The next morning, Hendrik woke up and went into mom and dad's room. "I'm sorry you didn't get to see the tooth fairy last night when I woke you up!", he said. "You didn't wake us up last night," said mom and dad. "What are you talking about?" said Hendrik. "I woke you up to come see the tooth fairy.", he said. "No, you didn't," said mom and dad. "I'll go show you my note, " said Hendrik and off he went to his room. When he got there, he couldn't find the note. ""I wonder if the tooth fairy was ever here?" he said. Hendrik ran to his pillow and lifted it up as quickly as he could. There he found one dollar but there was no toonie or note." " I can't believe it was all a dream." Hendrik said.

Nora's mom held the phone up to her pet bird's cage so Nora could say hello.  Nora yelled hellow into the phone and the bird fell off of it's perch. It was funny. Last night at hockey, Alex slammed into the boards and now he has a sore back.  Let's hope he feels better soon! Saturday, Josh went to Braden's house for a sleepover.  Braden woke up when it was still dark and Josh pretended to be a monster.  Braden hit him with his pillow and apillow fight began.  Later, Josh cuddled up with Braden's webkin, cuddles.  Sounds like they had a great time. Olivia went to a beach in Florida and played in the water with Aedan.  It was fun.
