Dear Parent(s), Today we were discussing making stories from little ideas and the kids wrote a class story today about a picture of a young boy and girl brushing their teeth.  I just had to share it with you.  It was awesome! Hendrik and Hanna were brushing their teeth before they went to bed. All of a sudden one of Hendrik's teeth fell out. "Yipee," squealed Hendrik, "I lost a tooth." "OH good," said Hanna, "The tooth fairy will come tonight. I hope I will lose one too," she said. When they finished brushing their teeth, Hendrik took his tooth and put it under his pillow. Soon he was fast asleep in his bed. That night, Hendrik woke up and saw the tooth fairy trying to get his tooth out from under his pillow. Quickly, Hendrik jumped out of bed and woke all of his family up so they could come and see the tooth fairy. But, when they got back to Hendrik's room, the tooth fairy was gone. All that was left was a toonie and a note. Hendrik walked over and picked up the note. It said: You were a good boy when you were asleep. Sorry I couldn't stay but I have to pick up other people's teeth and give them their note and money. Have a good night without your tooth. Love, The tooth Fairy Hendrik and his family went back to bed and soon fell fast asleep. The next morning, Hendrik woke up and went into mom and dad's room. "I'm sorry you didn't get to see the tooth fairy last night when I woke you up!", he said. "You didn't wake us up last night," said mom and dad. "What are you talking about?" said Hendrik. "I woke you up to come see the tooth fairy.", he said. "No, you didn't," said mom and dad. "I'll go show you my note, " said Hendrik and off he went to his room. When he got there, he couldn't find the note. ""I wonder if the tooth fairy was ever here?" he said. Hendrik ran to his pillow and lifted it up as quickly as he could. There he found one dollar but there was no toonie or note." " I can't believe it was all a dream." Hendrik said.

I can't believe it is the middle of November already. This week we are focusing on the "ng" sound and writing complete sentences.  We also introduced the r-controlled vowel sounds today. In math, we continue to work on representing our numbers from 11-20 and have introduced addition and subtraction by identifying one less, two more, etc. Have a great week.
