Well assessments  are over! Yay!  It's time to finish up the last couple math tests we did not have the time to get in. Volum/area/perimeter will be on Tuesday June 7th, and Fractions and Decimals will be on June 9th.(We have already coverd these units and done all of the work we just didn't have time to review and test before assessments, So we will spend a couple days reviewing each before that test!  Things are going well!Tonight's review (if not finished in class)Pg. 158-159 # 8,9,12,13, & 14.  (No need to actually build the shapes, just find the area the rest is done in class!) Over the weekend we will also have a review sheet on Volume to prepare for the test.  Have a great weekend!

What a busy few weeks left we have!  I cannot believe how fast the year has gone!               "Time flies when you're having fun!" May 25th - Dessert Theatre @ 6:30p (6:00 to help) May 27th - Cool Shades Day ($1.00 to wear sunglasses and hat) May 28th - Bottle Drive @ 10:00am (9:30 to get ready) May 30th - Essays are due! May 30th June 2 - Math Assessments                 Please make sure students are well rested and have a good breakfast each day!                 No need to worry, but lets do our best! June 2 & 3 - Spring Fling concerts @ noon June 15-17 - Mount Carleton Field trip June 21 - Track and Field day @ JMH   Not a whole lot of time left and we will be keeping busy!  So check bookbags for notices and the website for news!

- MATH: This week we are focusing on math review for the provincial assessments!               So study your facts and practice any problem areas each night along with any review sheets given! - ENGLISH: Essays are due May 30th!  These must be approx. 3 pages long.  If typed: 14pt font with 1.5 spacing.                    They must include a title page.                 - Reading each night 20 minutes! - FRENCH: (for Friday's class) find/cut out a picture of a destination (beach, mountains, jungle ect..)            Then find pictures of clothing you would wear while visiting that place. (We will do an activity with these Friday.) - Gym Wednesday & Friday  - FRIDAY is Cool Shades day!  For a $1.00 donation to CNIB you can wear a hat and sunglasses all day at school!

It's a short week!  Which means our spelling test is on Thursday instead of Friday. (7, not too difficult, words) - Read each night for 20 minutes or more (I will be collecting reading logs Thursday) - Math (Textbook questions) Mon- pg. 225 #4, 5 & pg. 228 #2, 3, 5 - Social Studies test is Thursday - Gym Wednesday - Hanging flower basket orders due Wednesday the 20th!! We will have a small easter celebration when we return from the egg hunt on Thursday afternoon. All mystery drafts should have been passed in today!  If you have not yet passed it in, I will be looking for it tomorrow!

Our class built model ziggurats as we finish up our unit on Mesopotamia (Believed to be the earliest civilization in the world.) Ziggurats were mountain-shaped temples built by the Mesopotamian people so that their gods would have a place to stay when they visited from the heavens.

- Reading (20 minutes logged) each day - Spelling (Mon- put new list in alphabetical order, Tues/Wed - sentences, Thurs - study for test) - Math worksheets (M, T, & Th) - Science test is Wednesday - Social studies ziggurat models are due Thursday - Gym Wed. & Fri. - Hanging baskets money due back Thursday April 14/11
- Spelling test is tomorrow! - Math tonight is questions #2 problem on pg. 127 and your math facts!  We are doing perimeter and area of quadrilaterals so we really need to know our facts! - Gym tomorrow! Prepare to go outside! (Mits, hat, ski pants or splash pants, and coat are REQUIRED by Mr. Nastasiuk) - French clothing cards are due tomorrow (Friday April 8) - Social studies: Due next Thursday is your model Ziggurat (Mesopotamian god/goddess homes) Also, keep in mind the test is coming up soon! - District Spelling Bee is tomorrow.  We will be cheering on the students representing Croft! - Notice went home today to notify parents of the upcoming 'talk' with grade 5 students.  The public Health nurse wil be here April 13th to talk with the girls and the boys (separately) about growing up. (Helpful websites were included on the notice.)

Hat day Tuesday April 5th!  Bring $1.00 in support of Autism Awareness
