Thanks to all the parents for the wonderful gift card from Reitman's. I was overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness. I will certainly spoil myself this summer with a new wardrobe.      I had a super year with the children and I will miss them greatly. I appreciated all your help and support throughout the year. I hope everyone has a great summer!

We are all set to go to Shippagan on Friday. Please remember that we will be leaving at 8:30 sharp so don't be late! We will return to school at 3pm. Please have your child picked up at that time.     The day promises to be nice. Please check the list of stuff that your child will need for the day and make sure he/she has everything packed in their book bag. A copy of the notice is attached below as "Field Trip". Most of the day will be indoor but we will be eating outside and going for a little walk. You may want to throw in sunscreen as it is supposed to be hot.

Wow! How time flies by! Our assessments are now done and a great job everyone did! They were all rewarded with a surprise from Mr. Donovan last Friday. Good going guys! Our next big event is our year-end field trip. It will be at the Marine Center in Shippigan and is schedule for Friday June 18th. Details will be sent home next week. The last big school activity is our Field day on Tuesday, June 22nd. As always, it promises to be a fun day. We may be looking for volunteers to help out. Stay tuned! As the year is winding down (with excitment), I thank you for trying to keep your child's routine as regular as possible. It is very hard to get them settled for a good night's sleep, when the sun is still out! Keep encouraging them that there's not long now and to hang in there:)

They're here! It is finally assessment time. The children have been working hard all year in preparation for this week. There is 2 assesments: 1. Reading Comprehension and 2. Writing. The first part of this week will be used to review reading and writing strategies. I feel they are ready and I have reassured them that they are ready. How can parents help? Here's how: 1. Make sure your child is at school for the next 2 weeks. Any time missed may put them behind and extra time is not alloted. If   your child falls ill for more than a day, please contact me after class hours.2. Make sure your child gets to bed at a good time each school night.3. Make sure your child gets a good breakfast in the morning. If you are running late, remind them to have breakfast at school. Attendance, a good rest and a full belly will all help your child perform to the best of his/her ability. Don't "stress out" over your child's performance. Instead, encourage them each day to do their best and they will:) Thank you for your support during this busy time.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls at Croft for the great job they did representing our school during the Music Festival. We have brought home the Stars of the Festival award and earned a standing ovation last Friday night. I was extra proud of the boys and girls from my class for being patient while we waited to go on and wonderful performers on stage. It was a pleasure to be there with you:)
